Short
message service
Pine Cellular
now offers short message service for it's digital phone users. The
following is a brief explanation of it's uses and functions.
Short message service ( or SMS) is a service that provides the capability
to send a small text message to a digital phone, even while the phone
is in the middle of a call. It can be used when the caller doesn't want
to use valuable airtime ( receiving a message in the home area is free
of charge), or when information such as a phone number or address needs
to be sent. Soon, our system will allow you to subscribe to services
that can send you a personalized message everyday. That message could
include weather, stock reports, etc.You can send a message by email,
or use the link on the left to send one from the web. You can also use
one cell phone to message another, keeping in mind that the originating
number is charged .10 per message ( again, receiving messages in the
home area is free of charge). There is no charge for sending a message
by email or web. Pine Cellular will be activating the service for all
of our digital customers by the end of this month, and will be having
sessions at our Broken Bow office to explain how it works. Check back
for further information.
